Another footstep on the path of Success

Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is an organisation and association of major universities of India based in Delhi, to evaluate the courses, syllabi, standard and credits of foreign Universities and to equate them in relation to various courses offered by Indian Universities.

The AIU is mainly concerned with the recognition of Degrees/Diplomas awarded by the accredited Universities in India and abroad for the purpose of admission to higher courses at Indian Universities. The AIU is also an implementing agency for the agreements signed under the Cultural Exchange Programme executed between India and other countries in the field of education, insofar as it relates to the recognition of foreign qualifications (except for medicine and allied courses).

Mahatma Gandhi university has been granted membership to the prestigious Association of Indian Universities(AIU), New Delhi, with effect from the coming academic year. Membership was granted by the AIU governing council at a meeting held on September 2, 2013 at New Delhi.

MGU has already gained the membership of various known Associations like AAOU, PHD Chamber, FICCI and CII and has bagged the prestigious awards like “Best Innovation in Open & Distance Education for K-12 & Higher Education and “Excellence in Distance Education Distance Education University” in World Education Summit 2012. The membership of AIU is an additional feather in the cap of MGU.

On this occasion Dr. JDS Panwar, The Vice Chancellor states, ‘as quality education becomes more crucial to India’s social and economic well-being our focus is to serve students from diverse cultures and backgrounds with a quality education and we are committed to provide our students a specialized, career-oriented curriculum. Almost all the student’s courses at MGU are focused in their field of study to help and prepare them for their desired career.’
